wapcamer.com becomes wapcam.mobi

Hi all, it's been sometime now from the last posts about the project. Does
this mean the project is dead or abandonned?
Not at all, actually there is a lot of work been done for the last four months,
but this has occured behind the scene.
First of all, the Wapcam Project has changed its domain name. wapcamer.com will no longer be used - except for referencement and history purpose. From now on, you will be able to find sites of the project at:
wapcam.mobi
and of course
blog.wapcam.mobi
Why this name change? wapcam.mobi has it all: the wap, the webcam and the
mobility. There was also no chance to get wapcam.com since the domain name is
worth 8000$, not so worthy to me! wapcam.mobi will not provide a downgraded
version of the site for mobile devices, but a fresh new website ( that will be
finalized within days). Of course there will be dedicated pages for mobile
handsets, at: wap.wapcam.mobi or m.wapcam.mobi
Regarding the blog, blog.wapcamer.com will be halted and blog.wapcam.mobi will be the new adress. For the rest, it will be the exact same blog.
Following, as I previously wrote, there is a new website in preparation. The goal was to come up with a more pro-looking site and above all, use a CMS (content management system) in order to be able to bring more information to the users. It will be much easier to make little contributions to the documentation for example, than it was before. I expect the content to grow in the next months - everything won't be written for the site launch.
A new version of WapcamServer is on its way, this will be version 1.5 that brings up MJPEG/HTTP amongst other things ( a separate post will be written for this special release, as there are a lot of improvements). I know it's been a long time since a previous 1.4.2 release that would never be released, but I think it's worth it.
Finally, a wapcam widget is making its way and I may propose it versy soon.
You can now update your bookmarks from wapcamer.com to wapcam.mobi - it still leads you to the current website but this will change soon.
